THE GIRL BEHIND THE JEWELS
A business built on ocean breezes and self empowerment
Hi! I’m Maddie!
East Coast Jewels began the summer after my freshman year of college. My godmother, Lala, had previously taken a jewelry-making course and taught me the basics of wire wrapping and making bracelets when I was about 8 or 9. During my first year of college, I studied early education but couldn't settle on a major. That summer, I found some old jewelry supplies and decided to make a pair of earrings. After two days of work, I posted the earrings on social media and received lots of positive feedback and requests for more.
Inspired by this unexpected success, I created a social media page and started taking orders. When I returned to college for my sophomore year, I switched my major to marketing and continued to grow my jewelry business. I participated in craft shows, built a website, and steadily expanded my brand.
Nearly five years later, East Coast Jewels has been featured in multiple magazines, attended numerous markets and pop-ups, and crafted unique pieces for special occasions, including weddings. My journey has taught me so much about myself and the art of handmade jewelry. It's okay not to know what you want to do at first, but when you find something that ignites your passion, like making jewelry does for me, go for it!

Materials sourced with intention
We take great care in sourcing materials for our handcrafted jewelry. Every piece is made with intention and attention to detail. Our materials are carefully selected based on what we believe will deliver the best results for our customers. We also believe in supporting local businesses and shopping small.
Crafted with love
Each and every jewel is hand crafted by Maddie, the artist behind East Coast Jewels. Spending hours perfecting one piece, each design is curated to fit your individuality in mind. No piece is the exact same, which I think resonates well with the message that every human is created with love and diversity.
Local Artisans
Here at East Coast, each jewel is giving back to other small business near and far. Constantly working towards sourcing products from local businesses, not only are we one oursself, we make an effort to support small in each jewel endeavor.

There’s something so special about women empowerment
It's important to recognize our own worth and turning our passions into a career can be an incredible gift. As for myself, I had no idea what I wanted to do within my first two years of college, but after some trial and error, I discovered my love for creating handcrafted jewelry. What I love about my work is that it can be worn by anyone and everyone. When people connect with my pieces and make them their own, it's a truly inspiring feeling. Seeing people wear my artwork and feeling beautiful is what motivates me to keep creating.
I strive to empower my customers to feel their best. Jewelry should be a form of self-expression and a way to showcase your unique style. That's why I'm always open to creating custom pieces that perfectly reflect your personality and vision.
As I've grown and matured, I've learned that it's important to embrace all aspects of ourselves and to let our true selves shine. So wear the jewelry that speaks to you, that makes you feel unique and beautiful. My hope is that through my jewelry, you can see yourself in your most beautiful light and embrace your inner beauty.

What inspires me
A born and raised local to Wildwood Crest, NJ. I have always been inspired by the natural beauty and serenity of the coast. Growing up in this small town, I quickly learned that there's more to beach life than just summer vacations. Whether it's the sound of the waves crashing against the shore or the feel of the salty breeze on my skin, the beach has always been my happy place.
When I first launched my business on Instagram in 2019, I knew I wanted to incorporate this passion into my work. From the very beginning, East Coast Jewels has been a labor of love, and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to share my creations with you.
